Hannah Nugent, LCSW
It is a brave step to begin therapy. Dedicating the time, energy and resources to tend to yourself and your needs is a big commitment and challenging work.
If you are ready to begin taking good care of yourself, and to generate insight into your feelings and needs, I can help you along that path.
About me

I am a queer, white psychotherapist, and graduate of the Silberman School of Social Work in New York. I have over 11 years of experience supporting trans, non-binary and LGBQ individuals. Over my years as a social worker and therapist, I have worked with trauma survivors, people living with HIV, immigrants and refugees, children and families, people working in caregiving professions, artists, students, and activists. I am bilingual and can offer therapy in English and Spanish.

I believe that we heal in relationship to one another, so my process as a therapist relies on building a secure, collaborative and trusting connection with my clients. My approach is flexible, centering my clients as the experts of their lives and their healing process. You will find that I am an energetic and engaged listener and communicator.
Trained in psychodynamic, trauma-informed and behavioral modalities, I use mindfulness, self-compassion, relational techniques and attachment theory in my work. Anti-racist, queer, and feminist perspectives drive my therapeutic practice and much of my learning outside the therapy room. I am passionate about climate awareness and justice, and I offer therapy that is specific to managing experiences of anxiety and grief and the array of other emotions related to the climate crisis.

I am deeply committed to creating a compassionate, empathetic space where clients feel valued, seen, and comfortable being and becoming their authentic selves.
